My Story

Greetings! I'm Maggie and as you might guess, I’m a self-proclaimed hot mess. Always have been, probably always will be. Like many of you out there, I’m a forever work in progress. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not also quite good at what I do. Being a (functional) mess keeps me interesting, relatable, and gives me a unique perspective and personal insight into the lives of other hot messes out there.

What’s the special sauce that makes me me, you ask? Well, I’m a friendly fiercely independent compassionate, incredibly stubborn ambiverted (more intro than extro) generally amusing control freak goofball, who has a penchant for run-on sentences. But not to worry, I only feel the need to control my own life. When that starts to get out of whack my eye starts to twitch a little and sometimes I think steam is literally going to start pouring out of my ears like a cartoon character on the brink of a nervous breakdown. It’s pretty comical after the fact and probably in the moment as well for anyone who's not me. Actually, sometimes even in the moment for me if I catch myself in time and realize how absurd I'm being. Having a healthy sense of humor is essential in life. 😁 I tend to make fun of myself quite a bit. Not in a self-deprecating, critical way, more in a matter of fact, wow do I give myself a lot of material with which to work that it would be a shame not to take advantage of it kind of way. That is, after all, part of what being a hot mess is all about.

I love gardening (even though I hate it when my hands get dirty - figure that one out 🤦🏻‍♀️), cooking, baking, photography, and animals. I’ve got two lunatic, jealous, baby monster dogs who I absolutely love to bits (even though they drive me nutty on a regular basis) and three turtles who are pretty chill. Oh, and tools. I love tools. The Nut really doesn’t fall far from the tree, and I definitely inherited my former mechanic of 45 years father’s love of tools. Not just mechanical and power tools but also gardening and kitchen tools. If you've ever used a culinary blowtorch to make a crème brûlée, I know you know what I mean.

But seriously though, I'm incredibly sincere about the health and wellness of my clients, just with a fun, lighthearted twist. I’ve found that this can make it more accessible and approachable for people, which in turn makes it easier for them to adhere to their goals. It also helps them feel comfortable sharing with me when they don’t and why, in a safe, nonjudgmental, compassionate space. I've been a health & wellness coach since 2022 and have worked in all sorts of different areas of healthcare since 2007. Having worked in healthcare for so long, protecting one's privacy and dignity has become completely ingrained in me and therefore is of the utmost importance to me.

Meeting you where you’re at without judgment is half the battle - most people just want to feel seen and heard and to know they’re doing the best they can at that moment in their lives - and you know what? You probably are doing the very best you can right now but feel that it’s not good enough. Having an outside perspective to help you focus on your wins can be such an incredibly powerful tool. Sustainable changes take time, but sometimes they're easier to make when you're not alone. We're all just doing the best we can!

Embrace the mess! It’s part of what makes you YOU! But perhaps we can work together to get it more of a controlled mess. If any of this resonates with you, drop me a line! I’d love to set up a consultation to start to determine how I can best help you. And guess what? Consults are free!

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
